Hey there!

I’m Jash and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai, India.

My research interests lie in natural language processing (NLP) and Federated Learning, particularly at its intersection with computational social science and healthcare. Currently, I am working with Professor Ling Liu on data poisoning attacks in federated learning systems.

Previously, I collaborated with Dr. Zeerak Talat (Digital Democracies Institute at SFU) on improving hate speech detection systems. Before that, I was a Research Intern under Prof. Mayank Singh at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, exploring interpretability for neural NLP. At Unicode Research, I collaborated with Swapneel Mehta (NYU CSMaP group) and Akash Srivastava (MIT-IBM AI lab). I have been fortunate to work with such brilliant mentors and grateful to them for their advice and support.

I’m passionate about knowledge transfer and serve as a mentor at DJ Unicode, a student organization that encourages budding CS sophomores and juniors to contribute to open source projects and find their calling in tech. I was a Teaching Assistant for the Unicode Machine Learning Summer Course 2021 supported by Google Research India.

In my leisure time, I love high-altitude trekking and visiting beautiful, unexplored places. I also enjoy playing table tennis, chess, and reading novels.
